While Midjourney may not be the most user-friendly AI image generator, it has the potential to produce stunning and vivid images once you become familiar with its features. Unlike other image generators, Midjourney's generator is exclusively accessible via a Discord server, requiring users to have a Discord account and join the server to utilize the generator. Text prompts can be sent to the Midjourney bot in one of the Newcomer rooms within the server to create images (for a guide on how to use Midjourney, refer to our tutorial).
The latest version of Midjourney, called V5, was released on March 15 and comes with significant changes such as improved rendering of human hands, higher resolution output, and support for repeating patterns.
Midjourney operates primarily as a paid service, although it does offer a free trial that includes approximately 25 image creation jobs. Once the free trial credits are used up, a subscription is required to continue generating images. Subscriptions start at $10 per month. Only paid subscribers are granted ownership of the images they create with Midjourney, allowing for commercial use. Images created by free users are subject to a Creative Commons license, which permits sharing and editing.
